Methods participants aged 18—80 years were recruited from the baseline survey of the Lanxi Cohort Study. Background The increasing global incidence of obesity has become a recognized public health problem, which results in a heightened risk of hypertension, dyslipidemia, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, gallbladder disease, and other disorders [ 1 , 2 ].

Methods Participants A total of 5 participants aged 18—80 years were recruited from the baseline survey of the Lanxi Cohort Study, which was conducted in urban and rural areas of Lanxi, Zhejiang Province, China, from June to August Data collection Participants were interviewed face-to-face by trained investigators to complete the questionnaires about demographic characteristics age, sex, marital status and education level , lifestyle factors smoking, drinking, type of meal, physical activity, and sleep quality and medical history.

Statistical analyses Variables are presented as means and standard deviations for continuous variables and as counts and percentages for categorical variables.

Discussion This study found that eating speed was closely associated with body shape and fat distribution among Chinese adults.
